Mark Healey et al confirm plans to create an original title for Sony's next-gen system...

Having released their cult physics-driven title Rag Doll Kung Fu towards the end of 2005, Mark Healey's Media Molecule has today confirmed a deal that will see them develop an exclusive title for Sony's PlayStation3.

The deal, which promises to deliver a highly innovative triple-A experience, will see the release of the studio's first title since the team departed from Lionhead Studios in the early part of 2006.

Mark Healey, Creative Director at Media Molecule said, "Working together on Rag Doll convinced us that a focussed and efficient team had the ability to deliver exciting and innovative content. The ambition for Media Molecule is to take that a step further and prove that a small (20 plus) and passionate team can deliver a world class, triple A, next generation product. Sometimes the very unwieldiness of a massive team renders it much less efficient."

Alex Evans, Technical Director explained, "SCEE have proven to be the perfect partner for us. They immediately understood both our ambition for the game as well as our development style." Alex added "I think it is fantastic that a massive company like Sony has the vision to see that a smaller outfit can create a world class game. Even after 6 months of working together, we're beginning to create something very special for PS3."

Michael Denny, Vice President, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (Europe) responded "We were immediately struck by Media Molecule's ambitions for what a next-gen title could be. Innovation is the key to our shared vision and everyone here at SCEE is highly impressed by Media Molecule's ability to deliver on that vision. We're excited to have extended our partnership on an exclusive basis and look forward to presenting the game publicly in due course."

So what could this unknown title be? At the moment any suggestion would be in the realms of pure speculation, though one thing's for sure - it's going to be creative and innovative...

We'll have more news shortly...

Hey Anonymous, i have all three of those games and they are all good games. killzone 2 and LBP are good for online play but MGS4 isn't very good for online but that's just my opinion. But all three are great just for offline play. They would probably be the first i would reccomend to anyone. and also 75 trophies so far in Killzone 2.Burnout paridise has i think 98 trophies. it has the most out of everyother game and some of them are super easy.

i dont need a ps3 my laptop has blu-ray player on it (remember that comment) and ive got a 360 only i want lbp mgs4 and killzone 2, no chance of seeing them on 360 so ill get rid of the rrod crapbox 360 and get another blu-ray playing power console and i never thought id say it but i want a true blu-ray player for my house and the one on my laptop is cool for when im out away from home.

as for crysis my laptop cant run it cause EA made crysis so power hungry you need to upgrade the hell out of a pc just to run it (a game that costs under £20 on a system costing over £2000 to build vs a console costing £300 and can do the same if not better).

fact is pcs are for geeks and consoles are for gamers.

Go take your mid-life crysis elsewhere, hmmm..  maybe you should actually PLAY Crysis, rather than waisting all that gaming time bragging about how its so great because you can see every blade a grass and all that BS that nobody cares about.  Go choke on your mouse you world of warcraft playing 12 year old piece of sh!t troll

You people comming on this forum for one of the greatest, most charming, ingenious platforming games ever created just so you can bash on the PS3 make me sick and you should all learn harsh lessons.  Of course a pc can be more powerful than a console, ANY console.  Everyone knows that and now what is your point?  Console have their own charm and benefits of having for those of us who can't afford to keep updating our pcs every time a good game comes out.  Console people like to play games with there other console buddies just like you pc players do the same.  Everyone has their own preferences of exclusives, control, (a huge benefit of console is being able to play with your friends with a few controllers rather than JUST online all the time or lugging are huge pcs to each others house for a huge GEEK fest.  Its not about whose d!ck is bigger or "My pc is more pwerful than your ps3"  its about what people preffer.  The fact that you come on here to b!tch and moan means quite frankly, to me, that you are just bored with your pc, envious of ps3 owner, and have big time penis-envy inferiority complex.

just a message to post 41 i take it youve never seen crysis on the pc, dont go blabber mouthing on about killzone 2 without even seeing crysis first secondly MGS games are typically released on consoles anyway but yet theres splintercell which i do beleve to be an MGS clone.

LBP is like donky kong contry when that came out on the snes back in the early 90's awsome graphics and great gameplay realy thats all this game needs as its not trying to be something its not.

cool game just have to wait till the ps3 price starts falling (ive already got a blu-ray player on my laptop).

How about you all quit whining about formats and recognise that the game is a damn good one.

Maybe once, JUST once, gamers can show enough maturity to appreciate the artistic quality of the title, and it's simplicity in gameplay mechanics. This is a game that can easily appeal to ALL people, regardless of any boundary normally placed by people. Yet here you all are arguing which platform would be better to run it on.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

oh and who needs a ps3 for blu-ray film play back here in the uk BLOCKBUSTER the uks biggest movie/game rental store is selling a blu-ray player including 6 blu-ray films all new or just released films for just £200 that makes the player it self cost £80 a lot cheaper than buying a ps3 and as most people in the uk who own a ps3 said around 50% use it only for playing movies on.

so the choice is buy a ps3 that costs £300 and then buy the 6 movies costing £120 or buy the blu-ray player with the 6 films costing just £200 saving them selfs £220 its realy a no brainer.

lol dont you mean the pc cant play ps3 games YET the pc can emulate playstation hardware its been able to emulate both ps1 and ps2 when those consoles came out its just a matter of time before it can do the ps3 aswell oh and no it dont cost thousands of $$$ or £££ to build a pc that is as powerfull as a ps3 fact is who needs killzone 2 on the pc, the pc has far better fps games out on it try crysis and say that looks crap, mind you i notice the fact you chose the exclusive ps3 games to name just to make sure no one could make a comparison with the ps3 game on the pc (only its taken sony 12 years to catch up with the pc only for the pc to flaw it just 1 day after the ps3 came out) and for facts sake but ms admitted they diddnt test the console fully before releasing it they never said any thing about using bad parts other than that the failure rats for the 360 are now much lower than 33% however i dont beleve that the ps3 or wii failure rates are as low as 5% or 1% there probably around 10-20% no console/pc is fail free or nearly fail free.

best off all it has lights on it too and tells you of any problems much like the 360 has warning lights ot to identify a fault the ps3 has none of theses feature so when you ps3 breaks you gonna be fu**** oh well, ill keep my pc/360 ive got the best of both worlds.
