Spark And Gamecock Partnership On Next-Gen FPS News
Legendary: The Box will bring the publisher/developer team together for the first time...
By Gwynne DixonPosted: 10/07/2007
Spark Unlimited announced today that Gamecock Media Group will be publishing their debut next-gen title. Legendary: The Box is scheduled for a Spring 2008 release when it will bring mythological creatures and secret societies to the FPS genre.
"Like most developers, we've always had a dream game that we've secretly been working on," said Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited. "We've made a name for ourselves with World War II first-person shooters, but Legendary: The Box is our labor of love. It's a thrill to work with Gamecock; they want to see the game completed exactly as we envision it."
The title, which sees the gamer take on the role of an art thief called Charles Deckard, will be released on the PC and next-generation platforms. Players will be immersed in a world of creatures such as griffins and werewolves when Deckard is duped into stealing and opening Pandora's Box.
Harry Miller, Head of Development of Gamecock Media Group, said: "Spark's Legendary: The Box is going to be a classic, in terms of story, gameplay and technology. I'm inspired by where they're taking the genre."
Whether or not this is related to Spark's projected release of an FPS for Vivendi Games late in 2007 is unclear.
