Although still officially TBC, reports suggest that the title won't be available until October 26th...

Threespeech, Sony's "semi-official" blog in the UK, has revealed that Lair may not be available in Europe until the 26th October. While the official release date is still TBC, the blog post states that the plan for its release is late October.

This date is almost two months behind the US release, which itself was delayed from August 14th to September 4th because of "Natural challenges that arose while finalizing the offline game to include key online features - such as leader boards and medal systems - [which] have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date." (According to Ryan Hamlyn, SCEA Associate Producer, writing on PlayStation.blog on August 1st).

Whether the US delays have had a knock-on affect in the UK is unclear. However, Warhawk may be coming to PSN sooner than expected as Sony's plan is to make it available over PlayStation Network on August 28th for £19.99, with a retail version (including a Bluetooth headset) hitting the shops on September 21st for £39.99.

The X-Wing games were VERY different from the Rogue Squadron games.

Bad reviews (Like 5 out of 10 style) caused a panic and made for the push back on the release. The game still won't do very well. It is made by the same people who made the Rogue Squadron X-Wing games, and people are already seeing that this is just another X-wing game but instead you're piloting a dragon. It's not going to be a very good game no matter what they change on it at this point. Kinda makes you wonder why PS3 fans won't shut up about how great it's going to be.

Past testing says this could be a good push back to avoid later user issues that could kill sales. A few bad reviews might make this a rent first, but after a few days of real play time new and current reviews could say that this game rocks. It sure looks great and sounds just as solid. I'd say worth a look. To rent or buy though...the first week of sales will tell.
