New Guildford studio to focus on development of digitally distributed games...

UK-based developer Kuju Entertainment has today confirmed the opening of a new studio in Guildford, Surrey, which is set to focus exclusively on digitally distributable games for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, WiiWare, and PC.

doublesix (and yes that is supposed to be a lowercase 'd') joins the mini-plethora of Kuju studios based across the UK, including party game-focused Zoe Mode in Brighton, and Unreal Engine 3 'specialists' Chemistry in Sheffield. doublesix seems to be taking over the digital download reins previously held by Kuju Surrey, the developer of PSN title Nucleus.

Studio Head, James Brooksby outlined the new studio: "Rolling a double six is about having another go and that embodies what we're about - addictive, fun games that you always want to go back to."

He continued, "We believe that the future of digitally-distributed games promises to be more diverse than ever in respect to the scale and genre of development and with respect to the business models. doublesix has been established to deliver on that promise. We're here to offer publishers the technical know-how and creativity they need."
