Originally due for the Nintendo64, Kirby's Air Ride is back better then ever...

Shortly before Miyamoto sat down to answer all of our questions; a brief video showed a selection of new Gamecube titles in development and getting ready for release.

Amongst stunning new footage of F-Zero in action and more clips of Link in Soul Calibur 2 (something Nintendo seem to be very happy about); Nintendo chose to make the first ever appearance of Pikmin 2 and Kirby’s Big Air Ride.

Kirby’s Big Air Ride appears to be the same as the Nintendo64 title, which was shown to demonstrate the power of the 64 but never found a release. Unsurprisingly the footage was bright, colourful and well very Kirby; there’s something about seeing a bright pink blob that just puts a smile on our face. The footage showed Kirby rolling down courses similar to how a snowboarding title would work; the big difference was of course Kirby’s ability to suck up the enemy and imitate them, a number of changes appeared to Kirby during the footage, some of which will make long-time Nintendo fans very happy!

Despite the lack of any new innovation; the event backed up our belief that E3 will once again be very special for Nintendo, with a number of new and revolutionary titles set to be unveiled – lets just hope the gamers listen this time…
