Following a hint last Christmas, further information suggests Rare is indeed working on Killer Instinct 3...

A photo taken from alleged development documents appears to suggest that Killer Instinct 3 is finally on the cards. Yes we know a return to Rare's fighter has been mentioned more times than a Final Fantasy VII update, but we're slightly more confident in Totally360's sighting than normal.

Revealing the likes of Glacius, Fulgore, and Jago, the accompanying text hints that 3+ player matches will feature in the game, although the game is currently suffering from some issues with the picture-in-picture framing for the finishing moves.

Certainly if Rare are working on an update to Killer Instinct then they've yet to let the US Patent & Trademark Office know, with the only record linked to a cancelled 1994 trademark from Nintendo of America.

So why do we think it's legit this time around? Well we can't really put a finger on it, perhaps we just desperately want ludicrous combos and to see what B. Orchid looks like on the Xbox 360.
