Talk of a “Halo Killer” may have died down however Kill-Zone still looks to impress on the Playstation2…

Scheduled for release in the autumn, Sony today divulges further details on the impressive Kill-Zone, currently in development at Guerrilla Games.

Billed as a squad-based, first-person-shooter, Killzone is set in the near future during a period of planetary colonisation on the nearby colony of Vecta; however an invading militaristic faction named the Helghast has set out to decimate the ISA forces and take control of the planet.

Players can select between four ISA troops, each with special abilities and weaponry to accommodate a variety of techniques and styles within the game. Various mission types that weâ??ve seen thus far revolve around escorting a high-ranking official to a checkpoint, to allow for a safe evacuation from the war-stricken region.

In total there are 11 intricately detailed environments for the player to explore and wage the war within, along with a huge arsenal of over 27 different weapons to get your hands upon.

Whilst talk of a â??Halo Killerâ? has all but vanquished since the first information was released on this title, itâ??s still fair to say that this one of the most impressive Playstation2 titles on display, certainly from a visual aspect; weâ??ll have a full on playtest soon.

Why does everyone rage about this game? I didn't find it all that fun... maybe it's just not for me. I don't suggest it to players though. :/
