Sony moved Killzone 2 to February 2009 so that it won't be competing with other Sony titles at retail...
SCEA's Senior PR Manager, Ron Eagle, has explained Killzone 2's delay on Sony's US Playstation.blog site. It appears that the delay was a marketing decision rather than one concerning the development status of Guerrilla's shooter.
With four other big Sony titles scheduled for release during the busy Fall release window (two of which are shooters), SCEA apparently took the decision to push back Killzone 2 purely for marketing reasons. Eagle explained the decision on the PlayStation.blog forums:
"To be clear, there is nothing wrong or causing a delay to the development of the title. We (SCEA) had to look at the fall calendar with SOCOM, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2, plus some PSN titles and make a decision where each game should come out. Killzone 2 was moved to Feb 2009 to make sure we didn't have three shooters in the marketplace competing for retail dollars during the same holiday season. The game will be great and it will be out in Feb 2009 in both Europe and North America."
Given that Killzone 2 will be sparing with Resistance 2 for the most eagerly anticipated of the three shooters noted above, we've got to ask the obvious question: why not simply push back SOCOM instead and bring Killzone 2 to core fans as soon as possible?

It ahead of the 360 for sure... a 360 disc holds 6-7 gb's of data were as a ps3 disk holds 35 gb's of data.. so you tell me which can hold more ,ps3 is the clear winner. and left for dead looks like crap i'm sorry but i seen some horrible graphics and this tops it.i think a ps2 could play this fine lol killzone is diff than ur first person shooters.to me its better than halo gears and even call of duty.it just gives u so much variety.I've played all these games so this is not just me saying whatever.i mean bulky slow hard to aim gears an same gun over and over on halo and call of duty is alright but killzone so diffrent story.AWESOME GAME HANDS DOWN. If u have not played it rent it or buy it wth u doing.you wont be dissapointed.

post 607, you are right, but most of us here just dont have the computewr to withstand most of these games, like crysis and even some of the older games.
i repect your comments by a mile, but most people (apart from the fuc.ktards) like console because they can play so many games without having to take up to much memory, you probs know this like lol
personnely i like game on both PC and console, only my computer can only hold a maximum of 5 games cause of all the viruses its had over the years, thats why i prefer consoles, RTS games are my only sell point on PC apart from world of warcraft =)

Several cats, who say they know about graphics jajajaja what a joke and praising pc as a gaming "console" don't know or they need to know about stats and tech. So many of you keep praising the dam 360 inclining the 360 can match ps3 top potential/graphics. First PC is more powerful than consoles but, the PC is not a gaming console and who ever keep saying that is a child with out hope GAMING CONSOLES are way deferent to PC that is why consoles have 86% in the gaming industry and PC 14% look it up. Now as for graphics you guys need a them schooling degree like what I study so stop praising or comparing PC to consoles the fact you can play games on it means nothing that is not what there for anyways even dare to say that cause PC have more resources "Random access memory" know as (RAM)they automatic are more powerful or cause you change the vcard you already know more than a developer or everybody else hmm "get a life". Now many of you have said that K2 can be done in 360 I may agree to that but you so call geniuses forgetting that K2 was build around spes not symmetric garbage so before trying to impress about your PC skills or how much you PC worth and superiority stop running your mouth on a forum keep in mind that cause 360 has been able to to get an edge in multi-cross platform games cause is easier to develop for hmm porting from pc. Anyways porting than to build from ground up is totally deferent. Ps3 has more to offer developers than what 360 can or ever will K2 will not be ps3 best and last before posting don't google it study then write peace
