Keita Takahashi announces plans to redevelop a children's playground in Nottingham...

It seems Keita Takahashi, the creator of Katamari Damacy and Nobi Nobi Boy, wishes have come true, with an announcement at Nottingham's GameCity event that he'll help to design and develop a children's playground.

Takahashi-san expressed such a desire back in 2006 following his decision to leave the Katamari franchise and criticising the "safe-bet" nature of publishers.

The Independent reports that Takahashi will have a month working alongside the Nottingham City Council to redevelop an existing play area in Woodthorpe Grange Park.

"I am not sure what I want to see in the park at the moment," he claimed, "but I do want to produce something different."

"In parks, items are usually fixed but I am hoping - if the budget allows and with health and safety in mind - to produce items that are not fixed," he said.
