More destruction and hand-to-hand combat in the video game sequel due to arrive alongside the movie next year...
The first game didn't exactly set our pulses racing but still managed to sell relatively well, so the fact that a sequel is on the cards is hardly surprising; but then again, a superhero movie adaptation timed alongside a Hollywood blockbuster is never really a hard thing to push.
"Renowned" comic-book author Matt Fraction will pen an entirely new script for the game (in between moving to the coast), which borrows elements from the forthcoming motion picture and the Iron Man comic-book universe. The game promises to offer fans characters and elements that are not in the movie sequel, including new enemies such as Crimson Dynamo.
Coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, Wii, PSP, and DS, Iron Man 2's improvements include a richer and more interactive game world, which features a "new level of destructibility" as players engage in battles and use the full power of the Iron Man suit. Also new to the game are powerful hand-to-hand combat techniques such as kung-fu and a revised control setup following fan feedback.
