New Indiana Jones Game Surfaces News

PEGI rates an as yet unheard of Indiana Jones game for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS...

Somewhat out of the blue, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings has turned up as a 16+ rated game on PEGI's site. The game will be published by Activision in Europe (which usually handles LucasArts' games in the territory) for DS and PSP, although neither outlet has released any information on the title to date.

The gaming press at large is currently speculating that Staff of Kings could be linked to an Indiana Jones game that was originally revealed at E3 2006 as a tech demo of Pixelux's Digital Molecule Matter and NaturalMotion's Euphoria technology.

The project can justifiably be assumed MIA as very little has been heard of it since and unless PEGI rates next-gen versions of Staff of Kings in future, it's unlikely that these handheld versions are linked to LucasArts' enigmatic next-gen project as both the DS and PSP would be unable to handle the technology.

As game ratings are usually one of the final processes in publishing a game, we can only assume that Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings will be out in time for Christmas... until LucasArts tells us otherwise in a belated game announcement.
