Ubisoft's latest release schedule has pinned down a Q1 2009 release window for disaster game I Am Alive...

Mystery has surrounded the status of Ubisoft's I Am Alive after the publisher's latest release schedule has clearly listed a release window of Q1 2009 (i.e. sometime between now and the end of March) for the disaster game.

Very little is known about the game so far as Ubisoft has kept details and assets of the game pretty close to its chest. With the exception of a CG teaser trailer and some screen captures of that very trailer, it's fair to say that we've been kept in the dark on development so far.

This makes it all the more surprising, then, that Ubisoft's latest release schedule has latched a Q1 2009 release onto this enigmatic disaster game.

Over the years, only a handful of fringe titles have touched on the disaster genre and I Am Alive promises to deliver the first AAA attempt at this kind of game, so here's hoping that the post-disaster environments of Chicago in I Am Alive haven't been rushed through development.

This doesn't bode particularly well - can anyone tell me the last game which switched developers mid-way through that didn't turn out fairly poor?

I also like the way they call it a 'mutual decision'.  Yeah, like Darkworks were really complicit in this decision...
