Codemasters confirms development on a new tycoon game that sounds like Carry On Nurse: The Videogame...

Codemasters has today announced development on Hospital Tycoon, currently being produced by Tycoon City: New York outfit, Deep Red.

Set for release on PC during Spring 2007, Hospital Tycoon sees players take control of a hospital that seems beset with mishaps and an onslaught of patients with some rather unusual medical conditions (Monkey Nuts, anyone?!?) Moving away from the serious subject of medicine and health practices, Deep Red promise that the game will be light-hearted with plenty of entertaining 'moments'.

Everything from ensuring that the right facilities are in place to obviously curing patients will allow the medicinal empire to continue growing - but the spread of infectious diseases will always be threatening a gamer's progress.

Announcing the game Steve Beverley, Project Leader at Deep Red Games said, "Hospital Tycoon promises to be great fun, and continues Deep Red's drive to fuse the established core gameplay of our previous Tycoon games with richer and deeper character simulation."

"With Hospital we've added a generous helping of widely-appealing humour and a kind of soap-opera format too. The game is designed for play as either as a sandbox toy, making it accessible to a wider audience, or with structured challenges appealing to core gamers. Whichever way it's played, it'll be accessible, funny, visually gorgeous, and offer depth for those that want to dig for it."

We'll have more on Hospital Tycoon shortly...
