PC demo of Codemasters` forthcoming WWII fighter title arrives on the 60th anniversary of VJ Day...

With just over three weeks to go until the release of World War II fighter title Heroes of the Pacific, Codemasters has today (on the 60th anniversary of VJ Day, the day of the Japanese surrender) released a demo of the PC version that takes in three key missions from the title.

Available at theofficial site, the game allows players to experience the assaults on Pearl Harbor in â??Surprise Attackâ?, Wake Island in â??Evacuate the Admiralâ?, and the Marshall Islands in â??Attack On Taroa Airfieldâ?, and also allows for up to 8 players to dogfight in the Pacific skies above Midway online or across a LAN.

Eight of the thirty-five types of fighter aircraft are available in the demo, with four from the US AirForce (Corsair F4U-4, Lightning P38F-15, Tempest MkII, and Bearcat F8F) available in the single-player, and four from Japan (Zero A6M2, Raiden J2M2, FW-190A-8, and Frank KI-84-1A), which can be used during multiplayer mode.

Heroes of the Pacific will be released on Xbox, PlayStation2, and PC on September 9th 2005; weâ??ll have more news shortlyâ?¦
