Quantic Dreams Confirm Infraworld Cancellation News

The developers of Fahrenheit cites a lack of enthusiasm from publishers for the decision...

Heavy Rain

Speaking in an interview with German site Working Title, Quantic Dream's Chief Operating Officer Guillaume de Fondaumiere has confirmed that the next-gen project Infraworld has been cancelled because, "...the concept did not appeal to publishers." The company, which developed last year's Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy if you're reading this in North America), also confirmed that gamers shouldn't expect to get their hands on Omikron: The Nomad Soul 2 until 2009.

Both titles were announced to TVG when we spoke to the developer's CEO David Crane in April 2005, when Omikron: The Nomad Soul 2 was described as being at an "very early prototype" phase.

It wasn't all doom and gloom for Quantic Dreams fans in the interview however as Mr de Fondaumiere did confirm that the company is working on an original IP for the next-gen consoles, PSP, and PC, with news on the title expected at E3 2006.

We'll have more on Quantic Dream shortly...

There are great things about Fahrenheit but it also doesn't go far enough with those ideas at times. This is what I am hoping Quantic Dream will expand on for Heavy Rain, so that's it's everything Fahrenheit could've been.

Nope, and the gameplay is looking less revolutionary and more like Fahrenheit. That's not neccesarily a bad thing but I was hoping for more.

Am I the only one who thinks the visuals have been downgraded in the latest screens?

Yes, not sure about the last one. I guess we all knew the delay was coming. 2009 seemed a bit too good to be true.

I am happy because

A) Hopefully this will mean it will be a better game

B) I won't have to buy a PS3 yet (I'm broke)

C) The game will let you have sex with a panda bear, a fat chick and a lady-man at the same time...!

I'll be content to wait - last year's demo looked stunning - and let's face it, we're probably going to see Heavy Rain released before Alan Wake!
