Quantic Dream appears to be eyeing a worldwide launch for the highly anticipated Heavy Rain...

Quantic Dream CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumiere has indicated that the developer and Sony are planning a worldwide release for Heavy Rain when it launches next year, although a precise launch window for the title remains unclear.

"The launch date of Heavy Rain has not been fixed yet. We're looking forward for a worldwide release, and I'm sure we'll be able to communicate the exact launch date very soon now," said de Fondaumiere.

Although originally scheduled for release at the end of this year, Sony has since pushed the title back into next year. Nonetheless, judging by the Japanese voice-acting in this EG video and de Fondaumiere's comments below (which start at around 7:42 in the vid), the game's localisation process appears to be well underway.

"Heavy Rain is not a violent game per se," de Fondaumiere noted. "It's not a game where there is a lot of gore or sex but nevertheless, it is an experience for adults. We wanted to have pretty much the same game everywhere - be it in Europe, the United States, or Japan. Of course we slightly adapted, for instance, the Japanese version but I don't think the changes we've made make a big difference. Those are marginal things where we felt the need to adapt the content to the culture."

There are great things about Fahrenheit but it also doesn't go far enough with those ideas at times. This is what I am hoping Quantic Dream will expand on for Heavy Rain, so that's it's everything Fahrenheit could've been.

Nope, and the gameplay is looking less revolutionary and more like Fahrenheit. That's not neccesarily a bad thing but I was hoping for more.

Am I the only one who thinks the visuals have been downgraded in the latest screens?

Yes, not sure about the last one. I guess we all knew the delay was coming. 2009 seemed a bit too good to be true.

I am happy because

A) Hopefully this will mean it will be a better game

B) I won't have to buy a PS3 yet (I'm broke)

C) The game will let you have sex with a panda bear, a fat chick and a lady-man at the same time...!

I'll be content to wait - last year's demo looked stunning - and let's face it, we're probably going to see Heavy Rain released before Alan Wake!
