The first details of Heavy Rain have been revealed, exposing elements such as the game's story and environments...
Quantic Dream's studio head, David Cage, has spoken out about the studio's highly anticipated title Heavy Rain for the first time. Among the golden nuggets of information were details on the game's story, as well as info on the kind of game world that we can expect to see.
As with Fahrenheit, the game will focus on moral choices, with Heavy Rain placing the gamer in tricky situations where the lines between right and wrong are blurred. The story will focus on four characters and Cage explains the drive of the plot to Dutch magazine Chief (translated via Kotaku):
"Heavy Rain is about normal people that have landed in extraordinary situations. I wanted a much more personal story. The first thing that came to my mind, as a father of two little boys, was that the main theme should simply be a father's love for his son. This is not a game about saving the princess or the world. It's purely about a father's love."
Cage was also quick to distance Heavy Rain from a free roaming game such as GTA. He pointed out that this would make controlling the story quite difficult. Nevertheless, Cage went on to tease us with the promise of large, heavily populated sets such as shopping malls and subways that will be utilised in the gameplay.

There are great things about Fahrenheit but it also doesn't go far enough with those ideas at times. This is what I am hoping Quantic Dream will expand on for Heavy Rain, so that's it's everything Fahrenheit could've been.

Nope, and the gameplay is looking less revolutionary and more like Fahrenheit. That's not neccesarily a bad thing but I was hoping for more.

Am I the only one who thinks the visuals have been downgraded in the latest screens?

Yes, not sure about the last one. I guess we all knew the delay was coming. 2009 seemed a bit too good to be true.

I am happy because
A) Hopefully this will mean it will be a better game
B) I won't have to buy a PS3 yet (I'm broke)
C) The game will let you have sex with a panda bear, a fat chick and a lady-man at the same time...!

I'll be content to wait - last year's demo looked stunning - and let's face it, we're probably going to see Heavy Rain released before Alan Wake!
