The Heavenly Sword developer, Ninja Theory is working on a new game project with Namco Bandai America...

We were starting to get a bit worried about Ninja Theory, having heard nothing from the studio since the release of Heavenly Sword two years ago, but thankfully news has now emerged that the developer is working on a new project with Namco Bandai.

According to a Siliconera report, Producers from Namco Bandai Games America will assist Ninja Theory on the game, which is currently slated for release in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PS3, although there are no details on what sort of game it will be or even a working title.

"This new project pushes our core strengths of rich story-telling, cutting-edge technology and exciting gameplay beyond anything we have created before," said Nina Kristensen, Ninja Theory's Co-Founder. "The support of Namco Bandai combined with the skills and talent we have nurtured over the years means that players are going to be in for a truly deep and memorable experience."

Ninja Theory's first game, Heavenly Sword was particularly strong in areas such as graphics and story. However, while some gameplay features (e.g. the combat system) were innovative, the lack of challenging puzzles in this hack 'n slash ultimately crippled it. It's aftertouch controls are still one of the best examples of SixAxis/DualShock 3 tilt motion controls on the PS3 though.

With any luck, Namco Bandai and Ninja Theory can push this next project into the 9s and 10s rather than the slightly disappointing 8/10 that we gave Heavenly Sword.

What can i say i completed the game and found it to be one of the best games i have played. I enjoyed the narrative and the use of the sixxas controller was implemented well. Cannot wait for a sequal to expand further the story. I also loved the unlocks especially the story. Great Job...

Good review of the game but they forgot to add that you can turn off the motion sense for the air combos. Makes it far better to do them I found.

its a fun game good story graphics are awsome it s a hack and slash i dont know why people have problems with the motion sensor its dead on accurate if u learn to use it before the ps3 update that fixed the response time of the motion sensor it would have sucked and lair did suck until they patched now its perfect.. now if ur not upgradeing ur firm ware because ur holding out hopeing u can download 50 gig games than you are missing out

Have to play this through on "hell mode" with access to all the combos to really appreciate the gameplay/combat system. Id score it a 9

Shame it only lasts 5 hours, which is what not even 2 lord of the ring movies... hardly worth the price tag of the game, let along the console for this
