But in an interview with UK movie publication, Guillermo admits that it may clash with Hellboy sequel...
Ever since Bungie announced that the world of Master Chief was heading for the silver screen, the one question on everybody's lips was: who's going to be directing? That question only intensified when Lord of the Rings and King Kong Director Peter Jackson was announced as one of the Executive Producers.
In recent days there's only been name running through the rumour mill, Hellboy and Blade II director, Guillermo del Toro. Reports that he was being lined up have been countered by others, but it seems that there was a grain of truth in the rumours, confirmed in an interview with del Toro himself and conducted by UK based movie publication, Empire.
However, before comments about the dream team of moviemaking begin to do the rounds, there is one sticking point standing in the way of Guillermo del Toro becoming director on Halo; the red-skinned demon hunter known as Hellboy. Del Toro directed the first Hellboy movie a couple of years ago and is currently working on an a sequel, albeit one that is yet to be given the green light. If it were to be given the thumbs up, the production Hellboy 2 would directly clash with the production period of Halo. So which movie would he choose to make?
In the interview del Toro said, "Well, Halo is very much an interesting project because it's so full of monsters...It's a big temptation. I'm in talks with them [Universal and Bungie Films] and Peter, but it's not true that it's on and Hellboy's off. Hellboy's on. If everything goes as planned, Hellboy will go."
If Guillermo del Toro passes on Halo, there's sure to be several other names of Peter Jackson's list of contenders, but who do you think should direct the future summer blockbuster of 2007?

Halo is a great game, to any one who is reading this, and I insist . . . buy it! It is a little graphic and violent, I won't deny that, but it is the best Xbox game in my book, and the splitscreen mode you can play over and over again!
