Microsoft announces a late 2012 release for the next instalment in the Halo series...
Microsoft has officially announced Halo 4 at its E3 press conference after the company's Xbox.com website jumped the gun earlier today.
As the conference came to a close, a trailer showed the Master Chief being woken up from Cryo-sleep by Cortana aboard the Forward Unto Dawn.
With the Forward Unto Dawn broken in half, the Master Chief looked out into open space where the camera panned out to reveal an activated Halo.
Microsoft has attached a late 2012 release window to the title.
