Has the world gone mad? After rumours of Halo appearing on the Windows CE powered Gizmondo were disproved we thought it was the end of speculation of a mobile Master Chief â?“ how wrong we were.

Mobile Entertainment Company In-Fusio has today announced itâ??s signed a deal with Bungie and Microsoft to bring Halo applications to mobiles with the first set of content due in North America by the end of the year. Exactly what form these â??applicationsâ?? will take is yet to be announced â?“ how about a side-scrolling platform??? Letâ??s hope itâ??s a bunch of wallpapers and nothing elseâ?¦

"The 'Halo' franchise is an enormous force, conquering consoles, PCs, online play and soon the big screen," said Gilles Raymond, CEO, IN-FUSIO. "With IN-FUSIO as the mobile partner, the brand will now expand its reach to the millions of cell phone users around the world that make up the mobile community."

Whether this will link into promotional material for Halo 3 will of course remain speculation; weâ??ll be keeping a close eye on this one for sure...
