Microsoft Announce First Halo 2 Championship News

Microsoft Game Studios today announced the first European Halo 2 Championship, providing Xbox Live! gamers the chance to walk away with supreme bragging rights and some tasty competition prizes.

Gamers have two weeks from March 7th to register for the first stage of the championship, with registration concluding on March 20th when eight finalists will battle it out for the title of UK Halo 2 Champion and ultimately the chance to compete in the Xbox Live! Halo 2 Worldwide Finals in April.

So if you think youâ??ve got what it takes to show-up all the 12-year-old â??you guys suckâ?, simply head over to www.xbox.com/en-gb/community/halo2tournament.htm and register your details. Once registered gamers can begin the epic journey to the top of the Rumble Pit Leaderboard. Just sign into Xbox Live, select OptiMatch and start playing in the Rumble Pit. The top eight eligible players who are registered on the Rumble Pit leaderboard from the UK will win a place at the UK final.

To be eligible, gamers should subscribe to Xbox Live, be over 16 and be in one of the participating European countries â?“ UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.

The winner of the UK Championship will not only take the title of UK Halo 2 Champion, but also a Samsung Digital Camcorder worth over £400, a Special Edition â??money-canâ??t-buyâ? half-sized Master Chief statue worth approximately £350, plus a Halo 2 Championship Plaque and a commemorative Halo 2 T-Shirt.
