High-Def ‘versions’ of the Bungie franchise revealed as Halo2 turns one year old...
Although it's been long assumed that Bungieâ??s Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo2 would feature amongst some of the first Xbox titles made backwards compatible with Xbox 360, nobody had seen exactly what effect the â??HD-eraâ?? would have on the two iconic titles. Thatâ??s all changed today as Bungie releases comparable screenshots between the Xbox Standard TV output and the Xbox 360 HD output.
Whilst at first glance it may appear that the HD shots just look like blurred version of the original, Bungie are keen to point out that they in fact running with 720p, widescreen, full scene anti-aliasing (check out the images for clarification.) Of course the changes are all well and good but unless youâ??re an HDTV owner or planning to run your Xbox 360 through a PC monitor then there wonâ??t be a difference at all.
A list of Xbox games backwards compatible from Day One of the Xbox 360 North American release on November 22nd is yet to be announced by Microsoft, but it looks like Halo fans wonâ??t be disappointed.
