Bungie Talks Halo 2 PC + Ditches Clan Playlist News

If you're one of the few desperate for the release of Halo 2 on the PC, Bungie's recent Weekly Update may interest you with a few further facts on the title.

Although the game is being designed for Windows Vista exclusively, PC gamers need not necessarily fork out for a DX10 compatible graphics card as the game will work fine on older DX9 cards.

Confirming the appearance of new maps and the map-editor, Bungie ruled out the possibility of cross-platform play between PC gamers and Xbox gamers, suggesting that there's simply too much in the way to facilitate such an option.

Additionally Bungie have finally confirmed that Clan playlists will be dropped from the Xbox version of Halo 2, amidst claims that the playlist has become too "shrunken and inactive". In typical Bungie tradition, the US developer blames a section of the Halo 2 playing population for the decision, alleging that, "By starting new clans to you [sic] can "pwn noobs" again, you're defeating the purpose of having clan ranks in the first place. Not all users abuse the system in this way, but the vast majority does and it has caused the clan ranking system to lose its purpose."

So there you go... Bungie not to blame for an unpopular decision once again...
