Bungie Discusses Halo 2 Playlist Amendments News

In their regular update Bungie has this week announced some of the amendments made to the Halo 2 playlists that are set for release within the next few days. The update comes as an attempt by Bungie to tweak and correct Matchmaking playlists so that the matches are more balanced and fair, as well as making certain game types such as â??Head-to-Headâ?? encounters more exciting.

Some of the amendments include:

• Removal of â??Sudden Deathâ?? from all variants of Assault. As a result of this the round times will be increased.
• The Banshees will be removed from Ascension and Headlong in the Assault and Capture the Flag variants.
• Human weapon sets only in Slayer variants on Beaver Creek and Colossus.
• Removal of radar in all Head-to-Head playlist variants.
• Most game variants taking place in Coagulation and Burial Mounds will now start with Battle Rifles and an SMG, although variants with specific weapon sets such as Team Snipers, Team Rifles will be excluded from this.
• Two variants, King of the Hill and Oddball, are to be added to Head-to-Head matches.
• The update will also see the complete removal of the Phantom variants from Matchmaking.
• Covenant vehicles including the Spectre will be available in certain Capture the Flag and Assault variants.

In addition to the changes made to Matchmaking, the Bungie weekly update also included confirmation that the Leaderboard will be completely reset to coincide with the update, although they were quick to calm the wild speculation that spread throughout Live last week that the update would actually wipe Friendslists â?“ it wonâ??t.

Bungie also expects to release more news about the future Halo 2 maps that are set for a June launch â?“ weâ??ll have more on that next week.
