Valve confirm a number of arrests relating to the infamous source code theft…
The ongoing saga regarding Half Life 2 took a surprise twist today with the confirmation that a series of arrests have been made related to the theft of the source code last year.
Gabe Newell Valve CEO thanked gamers for their assistance in tracking down the perpetrators, claiming in a statement released to the press â??It was extraordinary to watch how quickly and how cleverly gamers were able to unravel what are traditionally unsolvable problems for law enforcement related to this kind of cyber-crime,"
Strangely neither Valve nor the FBIâ??s Northwest Cyber Crime Task Force, the agency assigned to handle the investigation into the theft, has released any specific details of those involved.
