Valve confirms a release date for the Source update to the popular multiplayer mod...

Valve has confirmed over the weekend that the highly sought after Source update to Day of Defeat (DoD) will be made available via STEAM on September 26th.

Taking the classic team gameplay of DoD, the Source update contains optimised versions of popular maps, along with all new player, weapon and world models in addition to HDR support.

Taking full advantage of the Source engineâ??s advanced sound technology to provide a more immersive atmosphere, DoD: Source will naturally feature advanced physics for ragdoll and physically simulated objects on every map.

"Day of Defeat has quietly been one of the most played online action games for the past three years," said Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve. "Day of Defeat: Source represents a major leap forward in both graphics and gameplay, and pushes the Source engine harder than any other Source project. "

DoD: Source will be made available via STEAM for $19.95; those who purchased Half Life 2 Silver or Gold will receive a pre-load notification later this week and will gain access to play the moment the game is made available.
