Valve's Doug Lombardi has revealed that the wait for Episode Three will be longer than two years...
Valve's Vice-President of Marketing, Doug Lombardi, has stated that the wait for Half-Life 2: Episode Three will be longer than the gap between the releases of Half-Life 2 and Episode One.
That's two years for all of you who're fumbling with the mental arithmetic, as Half-Life 2 hit shop shelves in November 2004 and Episode One was released in June 2006.
Lombardi told Kikizo in an interview, "The next time you play as Gordon will be longer than the distance between HL2 to Ep1, and Ep1 to Ep2."
It's unclear whether Lombardi means two years from today or two years since Episode Two's release this time last year. Late 2010 certainly seems like an unbearable wait so let's hope he's counting down from The Orange Box's release.
On the upside, Lombardi also said that there may be an announcement or reveal of the next Episode at the end of this year.

Too true man, even though L4D & L4D2 is great games, they shoulden't be delayin the games people want the most (I mean, L4D2 came out a year after the first one, and that game kinda had all the stuff wich should be in the first game) so hopefully this delay is the last we get...

Yeah, I think we're all a bit cheesed off that Episode 3 is taking so long. Valve has clearly been focussing on Left 4 Dead games over the past year or two, but you've got to ask yourself why when the fans are waiting eagerly for Episode 3 and Portal 2.

They could at least say "we're hard at work on it". Not something like "We can't tell you why it hasn't come out yet". I like Valve, but I'm not some mindless fanboy who will just like a company no matter what.
