Harmonix's rock guitar title set to arrive in Europe in April...

US publisher RedOctane has today announced that the rocking guitar game, Guitar Hero, will be heading to European shores in April 2006. The game, which will cost £49.99 and come with a guitar peripheral shaped on the Gibson SG, features over thirty classic and contemporary rock classics together with an additional seventeen songs from up-and-coming bands.

Picking up a number of awards in North America since its release, Guitar Hero is the latest title from Amplitude developers Harmonix, and includes a single-player mode that charts a groups rise from gigs at pubs through to filling entire stadia as well as a head-to-head multiplayer mode.

The guitar peripheral comes with fret buttons, a strum and whammy bars, and it even detects its alignment - from the sound of it, Guitar Hero will very soon be getting TVG Towers rocking like never before (and we thought that SingStar made us look -and sound - like fools!)

The tracklist for the release has been confirmed as:

  • Ace Of Spades
  • Bark at the Moon
  • Cochise
  • Cowboys from Hell
  • Crossroads
  • Fat Lip
  • Frankenstein
  • Godzilla
  • Heart Full of Black
  • Hey You
  • Higher Ground
  • I Love Rock 'n' Roll
  • I Wanna Be Sedated
  • Infected
  • Iron Man
  • Killer Queen
  • More than a Feeling
  • No One Knows
  • Sharp Dressed Man
  • Smoke on the Water
  • Spanish Castle Magic
  • Stellar
  • Symphony of Destruction
  • Take It Off
  • Take Me Out
  • Texas Flood
  • Thunderkiss '65
  • Unsung
  • You've Got Another Thing Comin'
  • Ziggy Stardust

Guitar Hero looks set to become the next peripheral based hit on this side of the Atlantic on its release in April; we'll have an exact release date shortly...
