Reports suggest that representatives of The Beatles are in talks with publishers regarding possible game licenses...
The Financial Times is reporting that representatives of The Beatles are in talks with Activision and MTV Games over the possibility of licensing the band's music to either the Guitar Hero or Rock Band franchises.
While rumours surfaced earlier this year suggesting that a Guitar Hero: Beatles game was a distinct possibility, no further details have arisen since. It now appears that MTV Games has bought its Rock Band franchise to the bargaining table.
Any possible agreement with Sony/ATV (the music publisher responsible for The Beatles' back catalogue of music) could spawn a standalone game such as the very soon to be released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
Sony/ATV has been cagey about licensing The Beatles' music to third parties in the past. The fact that the group's studio albums aren't available on iTunes is just one example of this.
