In a gesture up there with The Beatle's proclamation about being bigger than Jesus, Activision today celebrated the continued monumental success of Guitar Hero.

A week after launching in North America, Guitar Hero's debut on the DS has notched up over 300,000 copies, establishing it as the publisher's biggest DS title by a factor of eight and one of the top five best-selling launches in the company's history.

"Guitar Hero is one of the most successful entertainment properties and continues to push the boundaries of innovation with Guitar Hero: On Tour," said Mike Griffith, President and Chief Executive Officer, Activision Publishing, Inc.

"The game's breakthrough peripheral brings the Guitar Hero experience to the 41 million DS users in North America and Europe, where they can play anywhere, anytime.
