Gamers who bought Guitar Hero World Tour will be able to upload all of its tracks onto Guitar Hero 5, for a fee...

Activision has revealed that all of the disc-based tracks on 2008's Guitar Hero World Tour will be forward compatible with Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero when they launch this autumn, although gamers will have to pay a price for the functionality.

The publisher hasn't landed on an exact fee for the service at this stage, which will be available on all three current-gen consoles. Activision has also promised that tracks from Guitar Hero Smash Hits will have the same forward compatibility as World Tour.

In addition to this, 152 of the 158 downloadable tracks from World Tour will automatically work with GH5 including updates for the game's new features such as Band Moments and Vocal Star Power (of course, you'll have to have paid for the DLC to be able to import it in the first place).

"It's something we've wanted to do for a while now," said Tim Riley, Activision's head of Music Licensing. "They are separate licenses, so we need to go back and re-license previous content. So, songs from World Tour, songs from the download space, songs from Smash Hits that will technically work in Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero had to be renegotiated...We didn't want to do it for a couple songs. We wanted to do it for a couple hundred songs. So we have a lot cleared and we're in the process of clearing a lot more."

Dylans actually worked with some insane guitarist. they should use the song dirge from the planet waves album, robby robertson from "the band" shreds that entire album. also, the song tombstone blues might be sick, mike bloomfields badass.

just cause the songs don't make your fingers blister doesn't mean they suck fast music doesn't equal good music, sultans of swing will be fun as hell along with under pressure, smells like teen spirit, what i got, rock show, and more just cuase a song isn't near impossible to beat on the game doesn't make it suck. for me if it's a song i like and something fun to play even if it's easy it's a great track choice. you sound like my idiot lil brother who thinks loud and fast is the only way to go
