Kurt Cobain's widow angered by his appearance in Guitar Hero 5...
It's not often that Courtney Love makes a great deal of sense, but we'll agree with her recent Twitter outburst surrounding the appearance of Kurt Cobain in Guitar Hero 5.
Going beyond the realms of taste and exploitation for many, the fact that Kurt Cobain is even in the game is bad enough for Nirvana fans, but watching the purveyor of all things plaid sing along to other band's songs is nothing short of tragic.
"For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," Love initially posted on her Twitter page.
Later adding:
"WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises."
And...
"FOR THE RECORD I DID NOT APPROVE KURTS AVATAR FOR GUYITARHERO5. i think Kurt would despise this game alone let alone this avatar"
"now theyre just LIQUIDATING kurt and IM THE DEVIL? I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GUITAR HERO I LOATHE IT AND FIND IT ODIOUS KURT WOULD HAVE TOO"
It carries on, it seems Love is quite a serial twitter'er.
Whether or not Cobain's appearance has anything to do with Love selling a 25% stake in the Nirvana song catalogue to Primary Wave Music for $50 million in 2006, remains to be seen. At the time, Love attempted to reassure fans by claiming, "We are going to remain very tasteful and true to the spirit of Nirvana while taking the music to places it has never been before."

That's the way Guitar Hero 6 (Warriors of Rock) is going. I saw it at a pre-E3 press event last month and "Loud and fast" are precisely the words I'd use to describe Guitar Hero 6's angle.
Rather than moving towards its casual audience, which is what Guitar Hero has been doing for the last two or three years, Guitar Hero 6 is going back to the core GH gamers that play until their fingers bleed.
