ArenaNet President Confirms Third Guild Wars Campaign News

Recently TVG had the opportunity to preview Guild Wars Factions, the new Campaign in the Guild Wars MMO series, and speak with the President of Guild Wars' developer Jeff Strain. In the interview Strain confirmed that work on the Factions follow-up is already well underway:

"We're releasing two Campaigns a year but each of those Campaigns will have a full year of development ...Campaign 3 started last Fall so it's well into development."

On TVG's question about how the third Campaign is shaping up, Strain said, "...if Guild Wars was an eight and Factions was a ten well that scale's going to have to be revised every time because in terms of the play experience and the visuals, we expect Campaign 3 to be as big a step over Factions as Factions is over the original Guild Wars."

Of course it's well known that Guild Wars would be getting additional Campaign instalments, but news that a Factions follow-up will be arriving before the end of the year is something of a surprise.
