The next chapter of the MMOPRG set to make an appearance in the second quarter of 2006...

NCSoft has today announced a new campaign for the MMORPG, Guild Wars, set for release in the second quarter of 2006. Called Factions, the new campaign will mark the release of new features, regions, skills, and missions, together with what's been described an enhanced Player-vs-Player (PvP) and co-operative gameplay.

Before the release of Factions, NCSoft has announced a free preview of the new campaign between January 20th and 22nd, with the company distributing free access keys from the Guild Wars website. During the preview period, players will be able to try out the new professions set to appear in Factions, the Assassin and the Ritualist, together with the new PvP island of Battle Isles.

"We're excited to be offering this free preview of Guild Wars: Factions to players throughout the world," said Patrick Wyatt, co-founder of ArenaNet. "Factions is a huge step in the continued evolution of the game, and I think gamers are really going to be excited about the new features they're going to see!"

We'll have further news on Guild Wars shortly...
