NC West formed as a unifying structure as NCsoft aims to become the 'world's premier western publisher of MMOs'...

Having lofty ambitions in life is far from a bad thing, and the same goes global corporations. MMO specialists NCsoft is one such corporation that harbours such ambitions, specifically to become the 'world's premier western publisher of MMOs'.

So how does the Tabula Rasa, Lineage II, and City of Heroes publisher aim to achieve that goal (and wrestle the mantle from World of Warcraft's Blizzard Entertainment)?

Well, today the Korean-based company announced the creation of 'NC West', which may sound like the latest rapper from the East/West coast, but is in fact the tentative name being given to the unified structure. The four NCsoft outfits in the West, NC Europe, NC Interactive, NC Austin, and ArenaNet, will consolidate under the umbrella of NC West. Big wigs from the companies have been signed in executive positions, with Chris Chung as CEO, Jeff Strain as president of product development, David Reid as president of publishing, and Patrick Wyatt as CTO.

"We are confident that by combining our subsidiaries into a unified global organization under Chris Chung's leadership, NC West will become a more powerful force to be reckoned with in the western MMO market," said TJ Kim. "Chris has become a guiding force within our company and has been extremely successful at every position he has held with us. His detailed first-hand knowledge of all aspects of our business is invaluable and will help establish NC West as a global leader."

"There is an unparalleled opportunity for growth in the massively multiplayer online market," said Chris Chung. "By combining the strength of our US and European teams, NCsoft has the best global infrastructure to win in new and existing markets, and the best developer talent capable of creating blockbuster MMO franchises."

Around 60 positions (mostly in development) are set to go at NC Europe, based in Brighton, although the UK office is to stay open.

GW 2 will be an amazing game and I cant wait for it to come out. I do believe with the release of GW2 the Wow Economy will fall because of more people knowing about its release. The fact that there will still continue to be no monthly Fee for playing attracts more people by the minute.

In response to that question -Yes you will still have classes but now you can also choose your race, you can be a: Human, Norn, Asura, Charr or a brand new Sylvari! GW 2 Will rock! I have to hurry up and fill up my hall of monuments! I want my heir to be proud of his grandfather :)

wondering, still 8 skill system ? or will it at least be raised... i no a lot of people will scream at me saying... its to be tactical ! and stuff from what i have read, but if the lvl cap is raised... does that mean we get more attribute points. so we can max out every skill we have with 12 ? and so we can have a variety of skills on our skill bar, instead of just the 2 same skill classes ?
