News from Japan seems to indicate that Polyphony's PS3 racer may lean even more on micro-transactions...

Reports from Tokyo Game Show 2006 last week revealed that damage modelling will be a key feature for the forthcoming Polyphony Digital racer, Gran Turismo HD, although additional news from Japan is today suggesting that this ground-breaking (for GT anyway) may not be as clear-cut.

Translated from an interview with Japanese publication Famitsu, Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauchi has apparently mentioned that damage modelling may be a downloadable feature rather than a default facet of the boxed game. Whilst things invariably get lost in translation, if the news proves to be accurate, it strengths reports that Gran Turismo HD will lean heavily upon micro-transactions.

We'll have more news shortly...

I think this is a great idea. Who wants all those skylines? Just give me a few good cars and some good tracks, make driveable demos available to test drive a car before I buy and I'm happy.
