Polyphony Digital CEO busy updating GT5 for now...

Kazunori Yamauchi has said he doesn’t know whether the follow up to Gran Turismo 5 will be released for PS3 or some future iteration of console hardware.

"10 years ago it was easier to predict what would happen three years in the future," he said at the official GT5 launch event in Madrid. "Nowadays no-one knows what happens in the future. In three years, we don't know what will happen."

Yamauchi-san recently confirmed that work had already begun on the next instalment of the popular driving simulator, but has indicated that Polyphony is focusing on updating GT5 for now.

"Online updates are planned of course for leaderboards and matchmaking - [they're] all planned in the process of evolution." he said at the launch event, promising that Polyphony would be "upgrading every week, every month" to improve Gran Turismo 5.
