Episodes of Clarkson, Hammond, and May (not to mention the Stig) set to feature on Gran Turismo TV...

BBC Worldwide and Polyphony Digital have today confirmed a deal that will see 40 episodes of the BBC's immensely popular Top Gear available to download via PlayStation Network from 2008. In addition to watching the shenanigans of Messrs. Clarkson, Hammond, and May, GT TV will include the latest motoring news from around the world.

In return, the deal will also see Gran Turismo 5 feature in the Test Track spot in the show next year. A virtual version of the track featuring Gambon corner will be included in the full version of GT5.

Speaking about the deal, Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi commented: "We at Polyphony are great fans of the world's best motoring programme, Top Gear, so we're delighted to be collaborating with BBC Worldwide to deliver Top Gear content via Gran Turismo."

Simon Danker, Director, Digital Media, BBC Worldwide commented, "BBC Top Gear is the world's number one motoring media brand and we're thrilled to make it accessible to Gran Turismo gamers. We continue to explore different avenues to share our content with an expanding audience, and are delighted to participate with Polyphony Digital in the launch of this exciting new opportunity."

The driving sim franchise has previously featured on the TV show, with Jeremy Clarkson comparing his times on the real world Laguna Seca and the virtual version of the US track.

Today's deal is certainly impressive given the prolonged time it's taken Microsoft to sort out content for the still to be launched Xbox Live Video Marketplace in the UK...

I agree the long term playability of this game is very bad. Thats where we come in with ongoing leaderboards, championships and leagues.

There is a A&Q about our site here on TVG. Sorry I cant put in a link look for gt5-online 'dot' com

RUF is not associated with Porche, the cars may resemble Porches but there not made by Porche, and as GT5 has the biggest majority of its cars that anyone actually wants in standard form rather than premium (so far in 2 months there is no update to change any standard cars to premium nore has the game had anything done to fix the shadow problem, no car packs no track packs no additional features it really is quite poor from a high profile game not to get essential updates) the game is hoplesly dull and boring, long term GT5 fails thats why its not AAA.

wtf is going on, is everyone loosing the plot, car duplicating and racing are 2 different things and no amount of car duplication will make any cars go faster or slower, now if somone managed to mix say a bettle with the x2010 and some how maerge the 2 cars together so the bettle handled and went as fast as the x2010 but had the bhp stats of the bettle now that is cheating and having an unfair advantage but for car duplication to get the 1000 owned cars trophie it will take over 2.5 years as you can only gift 1 car a day, so again car duplication doensnt give anyone an edge online lmfoa.

its doesn't matter about the car copies, you can limit the power online so close racing is always there to enjoy
