GT5 "Still About A Year Away" News

As GT5: Prologue prepares for its European release, news from America suggests that the full game is a year away...

Gran Turismo 5

While Gran Turismo 5: Prologue prepares for its release across Europe at the end of this week, Sony Computer Entertainment America is suggesting that the full instalment of GT5 won't hit Western shores for another year.

Chris Hinojosa-Miranda, An Associate Producer at SCEA, commented on PlayStation.Blog forums that "GT5 is still about a year away."

Hinojosa-Miranda also assured gamers that online play for the North American version of GT5: Prologue (and, we assume, the European version as well) will not simply be a passing fancy: "Online features for GT5P will not be dropped 6 months post launch. You get in line for GT5P and drive your thumbs raw."

look releasing a game of this nature early just cause a few of you are inpatient and cant wait till polyphony feels the game is right, this game is huge in comparison to forza 3 fuel ect the prolouge was just a pressure release just so people could see how the games evolving. the main game will have hundreds of cars loads of tracks as expected from a gt game but like killzone 2 this will still be in development for some time to come (segaboy's right a late 2009 early 2010 is a good estimate).

i know killzone 2 is out but how long was it in development is what i was using as an example, releasing the game now would be like comitting suicide, the game would still be full of bugs and glitches and from what we have come to expect from big game developers is that they like to get there games as close to perfection as possible, just dont make them rush it by asking for it now they know there high demand for it thats why there getting it as good as they can, and trust me when this game comes out it wont dissapoint.

oh lastly this game is being made by a japanese firm so why shouldnt it come out in japan first, im sure if you were a game dev studio you know where to release you game first

We've all been waiting a very long time for the actual release of GT5. It's been a while and I think it's time they stopped making Prologues- there's been enough suspence. When it comes out it will definetly be a must buy though.

gt5 prolouge has damage to a certain degree obviously not fully destructable cars or that would give a false impression of how the cars would be if in a real life crash, so likewise the full gt5 game will be the same and wont be out till a few months before the ps4 comes out lol.

"This had better have full damage and full weather, that's all I'll say."

Weather- Yes

Damage- They won't get the permission from the car companys to let their cars get smashed up. GT5 is big advertising for these companys, they won't want anyone to see them smashed up!!
