Could Nintendo release cartridges with embedded 3D chips, certainly looking possible...
Rumours from Japan suggest Nintendo are looking into the possibility of introducing a 3D chip in future cartridges, to open up the possibilities of 3D games on the GameBoy Advance.
Nintendo fans will remember the Super FX chip that Argonaut developed for use in the first 3D SNES title, Starfox; a similar move is considered to be quite likely, granting developers the chance to create true 3D titles on the GBA. If the rumour actually has any foundation in truth, it’s currently unknown as to whether the power will be similar to the SFX chip or hopefully exceed it.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one and news that GBA2 information won’t be too far away…
