Sony announces a second outing for Kratos on PSP from the same development house that bought us Chains of Olympus...

Fresh off the success of God of War III, Sony has announced a second tour of duty for Kratos on its PSP handheld platform. God of War: Ghost of Sparta will be released later this year and is being developed by Ready at Dawn Studios, the same outfit that bought us God of War: Chains of Olympus in 2008.

As opposed to Chains of Olympus, which was effectively a prequel to the original God of War, Ghost of Sparta will bridge the gap between God of War I and II by revealing how Kratos ascended to become the God of War after he successfully toppled Ares at the end of God of War I.

"Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-time high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President, Product Marketing, SCEA.  "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytime, anywhere."
