Wht are you chatting about? I'd much rather have this end of the stick. Who cares that we had to wait a few months for the Collection?! I'd swap that any day for this Ultimate Trilogy box - it's just got so much stuff in it!

Most of what you say is true... However...

Halo 3 actually run under 720p - I believe its output render was 1152 x 640 - only Bungie can get away with inventing its own '640p' HD profile :)

One of the few games that actually supports native 1080p to my immediate knowledge is Virtua Tennis 3, like you said, most upscale the image to your TV's native setting.

But like you say - you do need a big screen to appreciate 1080p - either that or sit a few inches away from the screen, in which case you'll probably end up with impaired vision and can't actually see the whole thing because you're sitting too close!

To "Anonymous"...

You seem to have no clue what your talking about..

The games were originally 480i, so this is a huge improvement.. And 720p looks awesome, the only way to see a difference between that and 1080p is to have almost a 60 inch tv..

And as a supporter of the 360, I am not a sony fanboy. I only JUST bought the ps3 slim, but 360 games do NOT run in 1080p, they are upscaled or stretched to that. In fact, just about all 360 games run at 720p... Like the gears of war series, bioshock etc... Supposedly halo 3 actually runs at native 1080p, but that doesn't matter, because it has inferior graphics to begin with..

Mgs 4 runs at native 1080p. But it doesn't really matter, 720p looks so good, that it's not even noticable. And people who complain about it don't know their A**es from their elbows...

These two games will look GREAT running in 720p at 60 frames per second. I didn't really play them when they came out. So I will get my chance to, and I will see them how they should be seen, in HD, thats right, 720p is a high def resolution...

Stunning 720p? Sony do realize that full HD is 1080p, right? They use blu-rays as their game disks, then go and only use 720p. I thought the whole hype about PS3 having blu ray was that they could put full 1080p uncompressed on to the disk because they can store so much more than a DVD.

At least a 360 can utilize 1080p, even if it's only a DVD.
