Activision Blizzard and Microsoft confirm a follow up to the intense shooter; Retro Evolved 2 coming early August...
Geometry Wars is returning next month, with confirmation from Activision, Microsoft, and Bizarre Creations that Retro Evolved 2 is heading to Xbox Live Arcade on August 6th.
The game, which has already appeared on PC, Wii, and DS in the last year, is set to offer new features, enemies, and multiplayer modes - along with 1080p support.
Six game modes will feature in the follow up, including the Waves gametype featured in PGR4, and Deadline, a new mode where players have to score as many points within a 3 minute time limit. Additional modes are expected to be revealed in the weeks leading to the game's late summer launch.
The original Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved proved to be one of the early forerunners on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade, with the spin-off, Geometry Wars: Waves bundled with last year's Project Gotham Racing 4.
