Gears Top In The AIAS Nominations News

Epic Games' Xbox 360 shooter gets ten nominations in the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards...

The nominations for the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards have been unveiled today, with Epic Games' Gears of War leading the way with ten nominations, including Overall Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, and Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering.

Looking past the 'Horde' of nominations for the Xbox 360 shooter, other titles picked for multiple gongs include Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with eight, and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess with six. Rare's Viva Pinata picked up five nominations including Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, but failed to get a nomination in the Children's Gaming of the Year category. LocoRoco on PSP picked up four nominations, along with Red Octane's Guitar Hero II. A full list of nominations are available from the AIAS website.

The winners will be announced during the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (D.I.C.E) Summit in February.
