Epic - No Gears of War Demo News

Breaking what is increasingly becoming a trend on Xbox Live Marketplace, Epic Games' Vice-President Mark Reins has today announced that it seems unlikely that a Gears of War demo will be produced ahead of the game's release in November.

Making the statement on his company's official forums, Rein said, "I don't see any way we could do a demo before the game comes out...Demos take a long time to create and polish and we can't afford to get derailled like that if we want to have the game in stores by Thanksgiving."

He continued, "Given a choice of the game this year or a demo this year and the game next year I'm sure every one of you would rather have the game this year because you're already planning to buy it."

But it might not be all bad news, as Rein did acknowledge that the studio has some ideas for GoW downloadable content for the future, "...we have some very cool plans (not 100% solid so too early to give any specifics) for additional downloadable so that might take a higher priority than creating a demo."

The news comes just twenty-fours hours after Epic and Microsoft confirmed a European release date of November 17th 2006 for the long-awaited game.
