Cliff Bleszinski reveals a little more info on the kind of DLC that's set for Gears 3...
Cliff Bleszinski has dished some more info on the kind of DLC gamers can expect for Gears of War 3 by restating that there will be campaign-specific content heading to Xbox Live at some point, although key members of Delta Squad will not be featured in it.
“We have some DLC that’s coming up,” Bleszinski told The Telegraph. “We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing campaign DLC. One thing I can tell you is that you’re not going to see Marcus or Dom or Cole in it. I believe that DLC should be unique and cool, like The Lost and Damned, Gay Tony, Mad Moxie’s Underdome Riot. All those kind of things. DLC’s the place where you play and have fun. So that’s one thing that’s an indication of where things may be going in the future.”
Microsoft previously announced a Season Pass for Gears of War 3, which is available now on Xbox Live for 2400 Microsoft Points (£20.40) and will give gamers access to the first four instalments of DLC as soon as they're released at no additional cost (making for a 33% reduction in price overall). An exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon Set also comes with the Pass.
Unless you've missed the internet-wide publicity juggernaut, Gears of War 3 has been released worldwide today – a number of UK stores opened their doors at midnight to mark the occasion. Our review is forthcoming and will arrive before the end of the week – we're going to get our multiplayer fill over the next few days and see how those dedicated servers stack up.
