Gears Of War 2 Matchmaking Fix News

Epic updates Gears of War 2 to fix matchmaking problems that players have been experiencing...

Rod Fergusson, Gears of War 2's Senior Producer, has announced via the Epic forums that the developer has now released a patch to remedy some of the matchmaking issues that players have been experiencing since Gears 2's release earlier this month.

Some of the improvements will be immediately noticeable and will reduce waiting times for matchmaking in the adversarial multiplayer (particularly in single and four player parties), while it will take a few days for other changes to become noticeable as Epic tailors its servers around the matchmaking changes.

The update has also fixed a bug that stops players from initiating the story campaign due to Xbox Live being down or unavailable.

In order to get this matchmaking update out as quickly as possible, Epic has not included some of the gameplay fixes that it has planned, although Fergusson did state that these changes will be made in a future update.
