Epic Inks Up DC Comics News
Gears of War comic coming in October; Epic Games follows Vivendi in signing DC Comics deal...
By Jon WilcoxPosted: 18/04/2008
Epic Games and DC Comics have today announced a deal that will take Marcus Fenix and the rest of the COG team to ink, pen, and paper this October, with confirmation of a Gears of War comic book series.
Further details on the comic series is expected ahead of its launch in the Autumn, but today's deal is the second time this week that DC Comics has secured a videogames brand for its WildStorm label. The Superman/Batman publisher has also secured the rights for a comic book series based on Radical Entertainment's Prototype with Vivendi Games. The Prototype comic series is expected to arrive this August.
"We are thrilled to be working with DC Comics to further bring to life the Gears of War universe. A lot of our developers are huge comic fans, and have loved the personas and chronicles unique to DC Comics since childhood," said Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. "The Gears of War storyline and characters that millions of gamers have come to cherish will be a perfect fit under the WildStorm imprint."
"Big guns and monsters - what a perfect comic book for WildStorm! We have an opportunity to work closely with Epic to add to the canon of the Gears of War mythos, so you can imagine how excited we all are, said Hank Kanalz, VP - General Manager, WildStorm. "Epic sets the bar very high, in graphics, story, and gameplay - and expect no less from our series, starting with our lead-in arc that fills in the gaps between the first game and the upcoming sequel."
Oh, and if you aren't aware, the comic book series will hit just a few weeks before Gears of War 2 hits Xbox 360 in November.

lol if you playing on a pirated/chipped/modded 360 its no wonder you cant play on live not only that but anyone with a modded xbox playing pirated game cant play multiplayer matches on live as microsoft instantly bans any account found playing on modded hardware which im in full support to them as the scum that pirate games/software cost the industry millions every year and you wonder why games cost so much, it all down to cheap scates not paying like all the other decent honest people out there (no piracy would mean cheaper games plus if the pirates haddnt made illeagl versions of the first gears you would have gears 2 on pc) so stop blaming Cliff Bleszinski its you fu.ck.ing pirates that need to rot in hell
