Activision confirms a PSP outing for Neversoft's Western romp...

GUN may not have become the franchise inducing, all-action extravaganza that Activision may have hoped for, however Neversoft's Western has been given one other chance with confirmation of GUN Showdown for the PSP.

Currently in development at Rebellion Studios with the assistance of Neversoft, Gun Showdown finds players assuming the role of Colt White once again, in what hopefully should be more then the tired old PS2 conversions that we've become accustomed to on Sony's handheld.

Although initial details are scarce it's likely the game will unfortunately be little more then a rehash of a title released over four months ago, with the promise of all-new side missions, quick play modes and a Wi-Fi multiplayer mode.

GUN Showdown is slated for release in the Autumn; whether or not the PSP adaptation will offer a significantly expanded version of the mediocre home console version remains to be seen, but look out for further information soon.
